Online Recruitment Application Case Study: ePsychometrics

The Client

ePsychometrics is an organization that is into psychometric testing hired BeakWare to create an application for one of their clients -a company that develops recruitment strategies, pre-employment tests, interviews, role-play simulations and also acts as a financial consultant to organizations.

ePsychometrics desired to web-enable a HR test-taking application that they had created. They gave us the test material and reports and we helped transfer the same onto a web-based application.

The Challenge

Thousands of applicants are processed by ePsychometrics everyday and developing a web-application of this size was a major challenge identified.

Also, once the site was built, the requirements kept changing and live data was being added to the site. It became a complicated site to work on and at this point our maintenance team finally took over.

The challenge was that not only new features were being added constantly but also additional features were lined up to be added in future. This meant we had to keep scalability of the site as a top most priority.

The Solution

Developing the site Understanding the client's idea was a crucial step in such a project. We had lengthy discussions with the client, understanding his requirements and proposing alternate solutions as and when required. Thus the initial site was developed with much care.

With BeakWare developing his innovation, our client had much time on hand to further innovate on his concept. Additional enhancements were recognized even as the site was launched four years back.

Support and Maintenance

Our maintenance team started clearing the code to add clarity. We constantly checked the performance of the site and fine tuned the queries to make the application run faster. The database interaction part is most critical in terms of the performance as this consumes the processor load and significantly affects the site. We had tuned the queries and converted most of them into stored procedures.

We kept adding features and utilities to the site and this made the customer to manage the site without much of our involvement. We also focused more on the reports section and added a more advanced digital dashboard reporting facility.

This will analyze the statistics and present a more detailed report which is highly customized to the requirement. Graphs and charts were extensively used to read the reports easily and get an understanding of the kind of applicants being registered in the site and the pattern of the applicants who are successful.

The Major Enhancement

We implemented OLAP reporting onto the existing application so as to generate detailed and quick reports to his recruitment application. We used OLAP sql platform which dramatically changed the speed and the ease of application. This helped Fishback in drilling into hard core details of his business and coming up with quality business analysis.

The Big Leap

Fishback has always motivated us to stretch ourselves and deliver valuable solutions. We have come up with the Tablet PC writing with Stylus technology which will help in writing onto the computer with a pen. Fishback has always wanted to be the forerunner in technology and we have supported him in travelling that extra mile.
