Why the Blue Heron Image on our website?
The Great Blue Heron (Ardea Herodias) is a gregarious freshwater bird found in the regions of Southern Canada and the northern parts of the USA.
Among the most unique characteristics of these endangered birds is their co-ordinated and equal partnership in the nest-building and incubation processes. A noteworthy feature is that the male heron remains committed to nest-building activity long after the eggs have hatched, while also partnering with the female in ensuring security for the young ones, for up to 60 days, when the hatchlings are able to fly. Both, the male and the female share and coordinate all activities while tending to the young ones.
Their foraging skills are known to improve continuously with age.
BeakWare strongly identifies itself with such "committed partnership" and "diligence". And therefore, the Blue Heron has been chosen as the mascot on our website.
